When Northwest Ohio’s iconic staple Tony Packo’s needed a new location in West Toledo, they knew that they needed to identify a place with great visibility and access to lots of hungry people. Ensuring that a partnership was built with people who could move the project forward was essential.
One-Stop Shop for all Your Needs
At the Lucas County Department of Planning & Development, we aim to serve as a one-stop shop for all of the needs of businesses, workers, and job seekers in our county. We know that existing businesses create approximately 80% of the jobs in our community. We want to do everything we can to help your business to grow and prosper in Lucas County.
By leveraging relationships with local, regional, and state-wide development partners, the Lucas County Department of Planning and Development can coordinate a range of services to promote the success of local businesses, such as site selection assistance, connection to financing tools, and technical assistance.
This was evidenced when Tony Packo’s came to us for help with all facets of their project: permitting, hiring, location, and expansion.
Coordination & Collaboration Leads to Success
After meeting with Lisa Arend, one of our planning and development professionals, all relevant parties got together to coordinate and collaborate on this project.
The right team at the right time: the leadership team from Tony Packo’s, their construction manager, the City of Toledo, relevant departments, other community partners – and more.
With enough resources, excellent coordination, and a clear vision in sight, Tony Packo’s was able to open their newest location at 3348 Secor Rd. in Toledo within their deadline and fully staffed.
If you have any needs for which you need a partner to help you overcome your development obstacles, the Lucas County Department of Planning & Development stands ready to assist you too.
