National Career Readiness Certificate
National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC)
The National Career Readiness Certificate is a skills credential that can help connect workers to available jobs by providing proof that an individual possesses the essential skills employers need. Not only does it measure a person’s abilities in applied math, navigating workplace documents and understanding graphic information, it also shows an ability to learn and the dedication to work hard to accomplish a goal. Identifying these traits in new hires is important but businesses can also use the NCRC as a way of identifying current workers who can be promoted and moved into leadership roles.
While the NCRC is based on WorkKeys, a series of three assessments targeting specific areas of expertise and measuring foundational skills required for success in the workplace, the certificate also evaluates additional skills that can greatly impact a worker’s job performance. The assessments are designed around actual workplace problems and do much more than simply give an indication of reading and writing competency. The WorkKeys assessments also determine a range of both hard and soft skills relevant to nearly any profession regardless of industry or job level. With more than 20,000 businesses already recognizing the NCRC, companies across the nation see value in the assessments.
